Alfa Introduces 175PS Diesel on the Giulietta and 140PS Petrol on the MiTo in Italy

Alfa Romeo has introduced two new engine versions in Italy for the Giulietta MY2014 andMiTo MY2014.
The Giulietta gets a new 2.0-liter JDTM turbodiesel unit producing 175PS (173hp), in combination with the 6-speed double-clutch TCT gearbox. Available only for the Distinctive and Exclusive top trim levels, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta with the new engine is priced from €30,450 ($41,745) and €31,900 ($43,730), respectively.
The new diesel engine features the third generation common rail injection system and a small turbocharger. Peak torque is 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) at 1,750 rpm, allowing the Giulietta to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.8 seconds and to reach a top speed of 219 km/h (136 mph). Average fuel economy is 4.4 l/100 km (53.4 mpg US), while CO2 emissions are rated at 116 g/km.
The Alfa Romeo MiTo also gets a new engine version, the 140PS (138hp) 1.4-liter MultiAir TBi, combined with the Alfa TCT. The engine is only available for the Distinctive trim level and is priced from €21,100 ($28,945). With the new unit, the MiTo sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.1 seconds and hits 209 km/h (130 mph). Combined fuel consumption is 5.4 l/100 km (43.5 mpg US), with CO2 emissions of 124 g/km.

Alfa Romeo MiTo Gets 2-Cylinder 105 HP TwinAir Engine, Interior and Exterior Updates for 2014MY

Alfa Romeo has discreetly unveiled the MiToModel Year 2014, which is now available with the new 0.9-liter Turbo TwinAir engine developing 105 horsepower and with the 1.4 LPG Turbo engine developing 120 horsepower.
The TwinAir unit delivers 105 HP at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 145 Nm (107 lb-ft) at 2,000 rpm. Combined with a six-speed manual transmission, the engine averages 4.2 liters/100 km (56 mpg) on the combined cycle and emits 99 g/km of CO2. When equipped with this engine, the MiTo reaches a top speed of 184 km/h (114 mph) and sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 11.4 seconds.
The engine range for the MiTO MY 2014 includes two turbo diesel engines (the updated E5+ 86 HP 1.3 JTDM and the 120 HP 1.6 JTDM) and five petrol engines: the 70 HP 1.4, the 78 HP 1.4, the 135 HP 1.4 MultiAir Turbo (with manual or Alfa TCT automatic gearbox) and the 170 HP 1.4 MultiAir Turbo.
Styling tweaks include the subtly redesigned grille that now gets a chrome-plated frame, the burnished finishing of the front light clusters on all versions and the new Anthracite Grey body color.
On the inside, the Alfa MiTo has three new upholstery combinations – two new Evoluzione fabrics (black/titanium or black/red) for the Distinctive trim level and the new Heritage black with electrically welded Alfa Romeo badge for the Quadrifoglio Verde. Alfa also offers new dashboard customizing options, like the specific black version for the Progression model (Street dashboard) and the two shaded Evoluzione dashboard designs (grey-black or black-red) for the Distinctive trim line.
The MiTo also gets a multimedia system based on Uconnect that includes a 5-inch color touchscreen to access the radio and multimedia devices (mediaplayer, iPod, iPhone, smartphone) connectable via USB and the Aux-in connector. There are five available packs grouping the most popular optional equipment and accessories for the Distinctive and Superbiketrim levels.
The base MiTo 70hp 1.4-liter Impression model is priced from €14,800 ($19,750) in Italy, while the top-of-the-range 170hp Quadrifoglio Verde starts from €22,250 ($29,680).
