New Fiat 500 1957 Limited Edition Comes to the States Priced at $20,400*

Not to be confused with the similar, but ultimately, fancier and better looking Fiat 500 1957 Vintage Edition study that's on display at this week's Geneva motor show, the 2014 Fiat 500 1957 Edition was previewed at last year's LA show and now, the Italians have announced pricing.
The limited run model with the 1950s vintage colors and trimming goes on sale this spring with prices (excluding delivery) starting from $20,400, "just $1,900 more than a base Fiat 500 Lounge" according to Fiat, or $4,205 more than the entry-level price for the 500, according to Fiat's official website and…Carscoops.
Buyers have a choice of three classic exterior shades, including Bianco (white), Verde Chiaro (light green) and exclusive Celeste (celestial blue), with the last two paired with Bianco painted roof and mirror caps for a two-tone look.
All 1957 Editions come with a sportier-tuned suspension, 16-inch forged alloy wheels with a retro body color finish, old-school Fiat badges, and Marrone (brown) and Avorio (ivory) leather interior.
Power is provided by Fiat's 1.4-liter MultiAir engine paired to a standard manual gearbox delivering an EPA estimated 31mpg city and 40 mpg highway, with a six-speed automatic transmission offered as an option.

2014MY Fiat 500 Gets Range-Topping Cult Version, 105PS TwinAir Engine

Fiat has operated styling and technological changes for the 2014 model year of the 500 city car, with the most important additions being a new engine and the top-of-the-range Cult version.
The most powerful variant of the two-cylinder 0.9-liter TwinAir turbocharged petrol engine, producing 105PS (104hp), is available from now on in the Fiat 500. Equipped with this engine, the city car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 10 seconds and reaches a top speed of 188 km/h (117 mph). Combined fuel consumption is 4.2 l/100 km (56 mpg US), with CO2 emissions rated at 99 g/km.
Mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, the new 105PS TwinAir engine is the most powerful engine in the 500 lineup, adding to the 95PS 1.3 MultiJet II, 69PS 1.2, 85PS 0.9 TwinAir Turbo and 69PS 1.2 dual-fuel.
The Fiat 500 also gets a new trim level for the 2014 model year, the Cult. Available in saloon or cabrio configurations, the top-of-the-range Fiat 500 Cult features a roof with one part fixed glass and the other glossy black paintwork.
Door mirror covers are either chrome or glossy black, while the characteristic front ‘whiskers’ and tailgate handle, in addition to the glossy black surround for the rear light clusters and the new 16-inch alloy wheels feature a chrome finish. On the inside, the highlights are the new leather seats (available in black, tobacco or red leather) and the dashboard painted the same color as the body.
Standard equipment includes an instrument panel with 7-inch TFT display, automatic climate control, rear parking sensors, fixed glass roof with sun blind, leather seats, leather steering wheel with Blue&MeTM controls and Dualdrive electric power steering.
Besides the Fiat 500 Cult, the rest of the lineup gets three new body colors (Lattementa Green, Three-layer White and Italia Blue), three new alloy wheels (15- or 16-inch) and new interiors in fabric or leather, with specific combinations for each version. There’s also a new instrument panel with 7-inch TFT display developed in collaboration with Magneti Marelli.
The entire Fiat 500 MY 2014 range will be in showrooms starting from the second quarter of 2014. The world premiere of the updated models will take place at the Geneva Motor Show.

New Fiat Panda Cross Adds Some Ruggedness to 4x4

Chrysler's partner in crime will be heading to next month's Geneva Motor Show with the new Fiat Panda Cross, a styled up version of the Panda 4x4, in its hands. The Cross model owes its more rugged looks to a new front end featuring plenty of plastic cladding and a skid plate in a satin titanium color, with the same materials used on the profile trims and the rear end of the car. Fiat also modified the tail lamps and added bigger roof rails and different 15-inch alloy wheels in a dark titanium finish.
There are no pictures of the interior yet, but Fiat tells us it revised the trim and colors, while also adding automatic climate control and the Blue&Me infotainment system with steering wheel controls.
The jacked up suspension works together with an ESC (Electronic Stability Control) system with ELD (Electronic Locking Differential) function, and standard all-wheel drive with a selector that allows the driver to choose from three different modes, including Auto, Lock (four-wheel drive always active), and Hill Descent.
According to Fiat, compared to the Panda 4×4, the Panda Cross boasts better approach and exit angles at 24 degrees and 33 degrees respectively.
Engine choices include an 80PS (79hp) 1.3-liter MultiJet II diesel and 90PS (89hp) 0.9-liter TwinAir two-cylinder turbo'd petrol, the latter with a specific 6-speed transmission with shortened first gear.
Sales of the new Panda Cross will begin in Europe later this year.
