New Super Edgy Lamborghini Egoista Concept Makes the Veneno Look Plain

We’ve barely just grown accustomed to the shapes and angles of the striking Veneno, which Lamborghini revealed at the Geneva motor show earlier this year, and now we need to readjust our eyesight for another, even crazier exotic supercar by the Italian manufacturer – the Egoista. They call it that because it only has one seat.
Revealed at Lambo’s private 50th anniversary party, the aviation-inspired concept gets striking looks, with silver body and orange rims and accents. Even the glass canopy is tinted orange and looks great, though probably not while driving – could help at night, though…
Also, after looking at the car more carefully, one begins to notice the fact that it wasn’t actually inspired by an airplane, and the shape of the narrow cockpit, and straight angles that go with it make it look more like an Apache helicopter. Apparently, it can even detach from the car.
Running gear-wise, since it sports the 5.2-liter V10 from the Gallardo and looks to be about the same size, it’s very likely that Lambo used one as a direct base for the Egoista. So, is it an impressive styling exercise with a hint of selfishness and hedonism, or way too much and over the top?

Meet the New Lamborghini Aventador LP 720-4 50 Anniversario

After the new Veneno that was presented at theGeneva Auto Salon in March, Lamborghini continues the roll out of new models to celebrate its 50th birthday with a special edition version of the Aventador, aptly named, "LP 720-4 50 Anniversario", only hours ahead of the supercar's world premiere at the Shanghai Auto Show this weekend.
Only 100 units of the Aventador LP 720-4 50 Anniversario will be produced, each of which will come with a Forged Composite badge featuring the "50°" logo and a serial number.
In standard trim, the special edition is finished in a new Giallo Maggio (May Yellow) as a tribute to the most preferred color chosen by Lamborghini costumers since the time of the Miura and as a reference the founding of Automobili Lamborghini in May 1963. However, Lamborghini owners can also specify other colors for their car through the brand's "Ad Personam" individualization program.
Contrasting the body color is the new aerodynamic body kit finished in black that includes an extended front apron and splitter with small flaps set into the sides, side skirts, and a brand new rear bumper with an enlarged diffuser. The wheels are also painted in black.
According to Lamborghini, "Overall, handling stability at extreme speeds has been optimized without impacting drag characteristics due to an increase of more than 50% in the aerodynamic efficiency compared to the Aventador LP 700-4".
Inside, buyers can choose from two shades, Nero Ade (black) combined with Terra Emilia (brown) brown or Giallo Quercus (yellow) semi-aniline leather in a diamond pattern, specifically developed for the Aventador 50° Anniversario.
Last but not least, Lamborghini engineers re-calibrated the Aventador's 6.5-liter V12 powerplant that gains 20hp over the standard model for a total of 710hp (720PS). A fast-shifting ISR transmission drives all-four wheels with Lamborghini quoting a 0-100km/h (62mph) time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 350 km/h (218mph).

Lamborghini Veneno Spotted Out in the Open, Hear its V12 Roar

Arguably, the most visually-striking of the three big supercars revealed at the Geneva motor show, the Lamborghini Veneno made quite an impact, and was one of the highlights of the Swiss event. Up until now, we had not seen the car out in the open, and the previous video we showed of it was just more of the same – motor show-floor stand footage/photos.
However, YouTube author NM2255 has managed to shoot the car while it was being moved around at and loaded onto a truck in Monza, Italy. Natural light really helps it, and while it looked striking (still not saying it looks good) indoors, things get even better once the sun has something to say about it.
The car is the same one showed in Geneva, and not one of the three examples scheduled for production at $3.9 million (€3.0 million) a pop. Also, if anything, the V12 sounds even better than it did in the previous video we posted (better quality footage).
So, without further ado, we encourage you to scroll down and have a look. We also took a few screenshots from the video, and tried to capture the best angles.

First Photos of New Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50 Anniversario Edition

Lamborghini is planning to celebrate its 50th birthday at the Auto China 2013 in Shanghai this Saturday with a new special edition version of itsAventdador supercar named the LP720-4 50 Anniversario, pictures of which were leaked online, courtesy of German car magazineAutobild.
The report says that Lamborghini will build 100 numbered examples of the 50th anniversary model that sports a tweaked engine delivering 20hp more than the standard Aventador L700-4's 6.5-liter V12 for a total of 710hp or 720PS. The Anniversario is said to complete the 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint in 2.9 seconds and top out at 350km/h (218mph).
So, what else do we know about the special edition Aventador? Well, as you can see in the pictures, it comes painted in a bright yellow shade that's called "Giallo Maggio", which is Italian for "Yellow May", and also sports a new black aero package with an aggressive front apron, new rear diffuser and side panels.
The car rides on black alloy wheels, with the exterior color-combo also making its presence in the interior.
For further details, we will have to wait for an official release.

Lamborghini Veneno and Ferrari LaFerrari get the Mini-Me Cute Treatment

If Newtechfresh readers' opinions are anything to go by, then the Ferrari LaFerrari is the sexiest new supercar of the Geneva Motor Show having amassed 52 percent of the votes in our poll (at the time we wrote this post) compared to 16 percent for the Lamborghini Veneno and 24 percent for the McLaren P1, while 6 percent disliked all three models.
Creating playful mini versions of exotic supercars with the help of digital editing programs is nothing new or original, but we couldn't help smirk a little upon viewing these Photoshops ofthe LaLamborghini and the LaFerrari, courtesy of "Arthur.H | Photography".
If you're feeling creative and want to render some of your own mini-me Geneva specials, send them over to our email and we'll add them to this post.
