According to a recent report sales of both the Moto X and the Moto G are now banned in Germany, the news comes after a patent ruling in the Mannheim Regional Court in Germany on the 8th of July.
Motorola have been found to infringe on patents owned by a company called LPKF, and two devices are covered in the ruling, the Motorola Moto G and the Motorola Moto X.
Sales of these two Motorola smartphones are now apparently banned in Germany, and Motorola will have to pay compensation to LPKF and also recall all of these devices that have been sold in Germany.
Motorola is owned by Lenovo, the company was purchased from Google earlier in the year in a deal which was worth $2.91 billion, and the two devices in question in the lawsuit were actually developed at Motorola when the company was owned by Google.
It is not clear as yet on whether Motorola will appeal the ruling, or whether they will come to some sort of agreement with LPKF on licensing.
The lawsuit covers a smartphone antenna design which is owned by LPKF and apparently used in the Motorola Moto X and also the Moto G.
