Nissan Looking for 100 Buyers Interested in New Special Edition GT-R Opal

Did you know that Opal is a mineraloid that forms as a gel in cracks of many different types of rocks? We're not exactly sure how that relates to a new version of the Nissan GT-R, but it does lend its name to the special edition, production of which will be limited to 100 pieces worldwide. What we do know is that it comes with a new exterior body color dubbed 'Midnight Opal', which Nissan says, "is an exterior finish that can only be seen in the most exotic of supercars" and that "the finished surface sparkles like a jewel, and how the coloring is perceived changes depending on light conditions and viewing angle".
All Opal models are fitted with a dry carbon fiber rear spoiler and forged aluminum wheels with a hyper-titanium coating, and also feature a gold model number plate within the engine compartment.
There are no other changes to the car that continues with the 545hp 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 of the 2014MY.

Nissan Prices 2014 GT-R Track Edition – Only 150 Coming to U.S.

Nissan has named its price for the U.S. market 2014 GT-R Track Edition, which it says, “is designed to take the legendary street supercar even closer to a pure motorsports competition machine”. Production for the US market is limited to just 150 units – imagine the sheer level of smugness one exudes when saying he has one of “just 150.”
The Track Edition gets predictable mods, including “specially tuned suspension, specialbrake cooling guides, front spoiler with carbon fiber air ducts and a lightweight quilted cloth matwhere the rear seats usually reside.”
Aside from those, the car comes well equipped with everything you’d expect, and features bespoke red and black Recaro seats covered inspecial leathers and fabrics, as well as a hand-made carbon fiber rear spoiler, which is unique to this edition.
The twin-turbo V6 engine has also been fettled-with, and it now offers better response between 4,500 and 6,000 rpm, as well as a maximum output of 545 hp. Performance should be as perception altering as ever.
That may sound like a lot of stuff, but for the 2014 model year, Nissan wants at least $115,710 (plus $1,000 destination and handling fees) for the Track Edition. If you want to pay less, then the Premium (base trim) starts at a click under $100,000.
