Nissan Splashes Some Colors to New Micra Limited Edition

Making its debut on the UK market is a new special version of the Nissan Micra hatchback, aptly named "Limited Edition", which features a contrasting roof color together with interior and exterior detailing.
Based on the mid-range Acenta trim level, the new Micra model can be had in the following color combinations Pacific Blue with a White roof and mirror caps; Shiraz Red with a Black roof and mirror caps, and Alabaster White with a Red roof and mirror caps.
Also included in the package are contrasting-color side sills and center caps for the 15-inch alloy wheels, a ‘Limited Edition’ badge and a chrome exhaust finisher, while the roof color is echoed inside on the air vent accents, the lower part of the gearshift column together and the floor mats.
Other standard features are the air-conditioning, cruise control and roof spoiler, with on-the-road prices starting from £12,300.

Reborn Datsun Brand Teases First Model, an Affordable Micra-Based Supermini

The first new car to bear the Datsun badge has just been teased by Nissan, and predictably, it won’t get your heart racing, because it has been designed with a low price point in mind first, then the rest…
However, looking at these two teaser shots, one could see a funky supermini, with clearly Micra roots, at least in terms of the overall proportions, and definitely very similar underpinnings. Currently unnamed, the project goes by the internal designation ‘K2’, and should sell well in the “emerging markets” of the world, but it is primarily aimed for the Indian market.
According to the head of Datsun, Vincent Cobee, the brand promises to bring "competitive products and services, modern and aspirational, while at the same time reassuring, providing superior value and specifically developed for the emerging and ambitious new Middle Class in high-growth markets." Cobee adds that, "Datsun cars will be locally developed with the support of Nissan Motor Company engineers and stylists and will be locally produced."
The model will be part of the Datsun lineup, and will launch some time in 2014. Until then, we still need to see what it looks like in the metal, because these stylized renderings tend to make the car look much better than it actually does once it becomes real. In addition, if they do move into Europe, then perhaps Dacia could reconsider making a small city car.

Nissan Facelifts the Micra, Gives It Styling and Equipment Upgrades

Only three years after its launch, the Nissan Micra has received a restyling that includesrevised front and rear ends, an interior makeover plus new equipment features.
Available with two new colors (pearl metallic Pacific Blue and metallic Platinum Sage) and new 16-inch and 15-inch alloy wheels, the facelifted Micra sports a more expressive face thanks to the redesigned headlights and grille, which incorporates Nissan’s new design identity due to the presence of the chromed extended V-shaped motif. Other changes include the redesigned bumper that now includes a larger lower grille and triangular fog lights.
At the rear, the changes are less obvious, with the revised taillights incorporating LEDs and longer tailgate being the most important. Nissan says the bonnet and fenders are also new.
On the inside, the new Micra features a new center console with restyled air vents, plus improved instrument graphics ahead of the driver and details such as the use of gloss black finish on the center console and a silver look to the gear selector finisher. The seats and door pads feature new fabrics, with Visia and Acenta grades sporting a tricot/tricot mesh woven fabric while top Tekna models have a suede-like fabric with double stitching.
The facelifted Micra also comes with dash-mounted Aux-in and USB slots linked to all audio units, plus a new 12V socket.
Available equipment includes the latest NissanConnect navigation and communication system, which has new features and a bigger 5.8-inch screen (up from 5-inches) with chromed controls. There’s also an advanced parking aid available.
Under the bonnet, the Nissan Micra is available with the same three-cylinder gasoline engines as before: the base 80 PS 1.2-liter unit and the turbocharged 98 PS 1.2-liter that averages 4.1 liters/100 km (56 mpg), thanks in part to an automatic stop/start system.
The facelifted Micra will reach dealer showrooms across Europe in September.
