Samsung Galaxy Alpha Launched in India for Rs 39,990

Samsung Galaxy Alpha
Earlier this year, Samsung announced the metallic Galaxy Alpha which is already available in several regions in the world, including the US where AT&T is selling the handset.
Recently, the Korean OEM launched the Samsung Galaxy Alpha in India, carrying a Rs 39,990 (almost $650) price tag, which might be a little high.
Samsung Galaxy Alpha ditches the traditional plastic design of the Korean manufacturer, and brings a new premium look with a metallic frame on the sides. It also incorporates some of the features introduced in the Samsung Galaxy S5 such as the heart-rate sensor.
As far as the specifications are concerned, there’s a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1280 by 720 pixels resolution, an octa-core Exynos processor with four cores operating at 1.8GHz plus four at 1.3GHz, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Unfortunately, there’s no microSD card slot for expansion.
On the back side, there’s a 12MP camera for photos and videos, a 2MP front-facing camera, a 1,860 mAh battery and runs Android 4.4.4 Kitkat as its operating system out of the box.
The handset is available in five color options: Charcoal Black, Dazzling White, Frosted Gold, Sleek Silver and Scuba Blue. It’s good to see Samsung changing its usual design form factor, which is also implemented in the company’s flagship phablet, the Galaxy Note 4. Some consumers may get a little disappointed due to its 720p display since most devices nowadays feature a full HD display.
